Let yourself be surrounded by sharks, watch the seals romp around in their natural environment, paddle in a kayak on the deepest polar ocean and learn more about how you can take good care of the sea’s wildlife. Whether you prefer to be a spectator on land or to be thrown into the deep in a diving suit Kattegatcentret is the place to go. A sea of experiences that will stay with you forever awaits you!

Be surrounded by sharks
In Kattegatcentret big skates are dancing and splashing in the tropical shark tank while shark fins cut through the water surface and frightening teeth rip fish from the hand of the zookeeper. You can stand very close and risk getting wet or watch from below in the shark tunnel where only 6 centimeters of acrylic separates you from the sharks. You can also experience our very special shark training and learn more about the fascinating sharks.

More than 250 animal species
Did you know that Kattegatcentret has more than 250 animal species from all over the world? You can experience fascinating sharks, slender herring and fierce catfish but also colorful coral reef fish, poisonous lionfish, and cuddly seals. Our many open aquariums offer excitement for all senses with splashing water, smells and sounds and in the touch pools you can actually pet a real shark, play hide and seek with the flatfishes or hold hands with starfish and crabs.

Dive down to the sharks
If you want to get really close to the fascinating sharks you can also have a test-dive in our 1.5 million liter Oceanarium and give the five shark species a high-five. If you are certified diver, large tropical sharks await you in the shark tank!
